During my internship at Burobraak I worked on the anniversary book for The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS). In honour of its 50th anniversary, we have designed a book that presents the most important moments of the past years.
To emphasise the passage of time, we have developed a colour palette that guides the reader through the history of the institute. This palette starts of course with the distinct NIAS’ red.
The cover represents the important moment of the Institute - the change of environment from the quiet woods of Wassenaar to busy Amsterdam. An embossing highlights the entrance of the current location.
